Why Longdown?
Active Community Life
Our village isn’t just a place to sleep between commutes – it’s a community where people genuinely know their neighbours. The Sports & Social Club has been bringing residents together for decades, whether that’s competitive skittles, social gatherings, or simply a place to chat over a drink.
Regular activities throughout the week mean there’s always an opportunity to meet people, try something new, or pursue your interests alongside fellow villagers.
Rich in History
The Church of St John the Baptist has stood at the heart of our community since Saxon times, with its current building dating from the Norman period. Our village hall, originally built in the Victorian era and recently modernised, continues to serve as the hub of community life.
This isn’t history preserved in aspic – our buildings and traditions are living parts of a community that continues to evolve while respecting its heritage.
